Ronald McDonald House Charities
First up is the Ronald McDonald House Charities! The first Ronald McDonald House opened in 1974 in Philadelphia and since then, they now have houses in 60 countries and regions. The mission of this charity is to help with housing families for children who are going through cancer treatments.
Additionally, they want to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. How great is that? We actually have someone on our team whose family also donates to this charity and has had a family member utilize their services before. These families are already going through a tough time and being able to help in any way that we can is a good feeling!
C.A.S.L.
Next is C.A.S.L. (Chinese American Service League)! This all-inclusive, non-profit agency helps immigrants acclimate in the United States and provides for families and individuals in need. The organization is rooted in the principles of equity and justice and makes sure that everyone from children to seniors lives a full life of dignity and has a cultural and educational foundation. C.A.S.L. is near and dear to us because our creative director and production manager utilized the agency’s services growing up during tough times!
Living Lands & Water
Another organization that we give back to is Living Lands & Water! Founded in 1998, this 501c(3) environmental organization helps clean rivers and lakes through the help of volunteers. Since the organization began, they are the only “industrial strength” river cleanup organization in the world!
Living Lands & Water mission is to aid in the protection, preservation, and restoration of the natural environment of the nation’s major rivers and their watersheds. Not only that, they want to expand awareness of environmental issues and create a desire and opportunity for people to take an active role in helping make the river environment cleaner. Here at our shop, we’re all about recycling not only within our office and company as a whole, but outdoors too! We love nature and want to help keep it clean for the future!
Purple Heart Homes
Purple Heart Homes is another organization that is important to us because they help give back to our veterans. This 501c(3) organization was founded in 2008 and helps rebuild homes for disabled and aging veterans of all eras. Their mission is to honor those who served by providing housing solutions and employment opportunities for qualified veterans. Whether it's building a ramp or providing home ownership, Purple Heart Homes can help accommodate veterans needs. Veterans have made the ultimate sacrifice for us and being able to give back to an organization that helps them is very important to us.
Anti-Cruelty
If you have visited us at our shop (or follow us on our social platforms), you know how much of a pet-loving company we are! The Anti-Cruelty Society is another charity we donate to, in fact, it’s where we got Marlo from! This animal welfare organization was founded in 1899 and specializes in helping pets and educating people. Ultimately, their mission is to build a happy and healthy community where pets and people can thrive together!
Gate To Ukraine
Lastly, Gate To Ukraine is an organization that is currently helping families with two or more children who are living in a warzone in the Ukraine or have escaped from one. This organization has a process where they review application submissions from families who are in need and from there people are able to donate up to $100 per family. You can choose to either donate to one family or donate to multiple families.
This isn’t the only way that you can contribute, there are a few other options, too! You can become a brand ambassador, feature the logo on your socials, or launch a fundraiser at your workplace and ask if your employer can offer a 1:1 match. We are saddened with what is happening in the Ukraine and being able to help families in this time of need is the least we can do.
