How Did You Meet Each Other?
Bethany: We met through mutual friends. Aaron was living in Virginia at the time, and I was still living in Pennsylvania (with plans to move to NC). Our friends decided to have a little Christmas dinner in North Carolina which is where we met. I’m not even sure how it started but at some point, after we met we started texting each other and one thing led to another. The best part about how we met is the fact that we actually grew up living 50 minutes apart in Pennsylvania and didn’t meet until we both happened to be in NC for a dinner. His hometown is only about 25 minutes from the campground I went to every weekend growing up, but we didn’t meet until we were living 8 hours from each other.
Was It “Love At First Sight”?
Bethany: I wouldn’t say “love,” but I definitely knew I wanted to get to know him. I actually told my friend that I “wanted him” within 10 minutes of meeting him.
Aaron: I honestly don’t remember.
How Would You Describe Each Other In 3 Words?
Bethany: Aaron is ambitious, silly, and supportive.
Aaron: Determined, empathetic, and humble.
What Do You Admire About Each Other?
Bethany: I admire how calm he is. We definitely balance each other out. I have anxiety and am always worrying about something, and he just goes with the flow. He’s super level-headed and has an old soul which I absolutely love about him.
Aaron: She preservers to learn new stuff no matter how difficult it may get. She always pushes through to better herself and her life.
How/When Did You Know That You Were “The One” For Each Other?
Bethany: I’ve been asked this question before and I always explain it as just feeling like everything had finally come together as it was supposed to. It wasn’t really a specific moment, just an overall feeling. I just knew that I had never been treated as good as he treated me. He was (and still is) very honest and caring and just fully committed to our relationship.
How Did The Proposal Happen?
Aaron: We took one of our day trips to South Carolina to fish the jetty at Murrells Inlet and I proposed on the beach. I planned to do it for her birthday but didn’t realize the ring had to actually be made so I didn’t get it in time for that. Instead, it happened about two months later.
What Ring(s) Did You Get From Us?
Bethany: My engagement ring is the Fern.
What About The Ring(s) Caught Your Eye? Is There Any Significance Behind Why You Picked The Ring(s) That You Did?
Aaron: I decided to pick this one out of the others she showed me because it wasn’t just a plain band and I liked the nature theme.
What Are You Looking Forward To The Most About Your Wedding Day Or Marriage In General?
Bethany: We actually have a pretty long engagement because we are waiting until after I graduate dental school. But I am just excited to finally be Aaron’s wife. We have been together for six years and by the time we have our wedding it will probably be closer to 10 years.
Do You Have Any Advice For Couples In Regards To Marriage, Love, Or Relationships?
Bethany: Just remember that no couple or relationship is perfect, no matter how perfect it may seem. Relationships (of all kinds) take a ton of work and you have to remember the good times during the bad and keep working at it.
