How Did You Meet Each Other?
Vivian: Miguel and I met the summer before I started my freshman year at college. He decided to send me a friend request on Facebook, and then I made the bold move of messaging him first! After our first date we were pretty inseparable. We instantly gained a best friend in each other.
Was It “Love At First Sight”?
Vivian: I don’t know about “Love At First Sight” but it was definitely “Love At First Date.” For our first date Miguel took me to the county fair. Afterwards we enjoyed a romantic dinner at Burger King, where we didn’t even finish our Whoppers because we spent the whole time talking to one another.
How Would You Describe Each Other In 3 Words?
Vivian: The three words I would use to describe Miguel would be loyal, passionate, and courageous
Miguel: Vivian described in 3 words would be hilarious, tender, and compassionate
What Do You Admire About Each Other?
Vivian: What I admire most about Miguel is the importance he places on family. His family has always been his number one priority and when we became our own little family he has always placed our marriage as his number one priority.
Miguel: I admire Vivian’s trust and faith in me. She believes I can take on the world and any challenge that it holds; and with her, I believe I can.
How/When Did You Know That You Were “The One” For Each Other?
Vivian: After our first date the first thing I did was call my mom and tell her that I met the man I was going to marry!
Miguel: I realized Vivian was the one when she happily played video games with me and could listen to me talk for hours.
How Did The Proposal Happen?
Miguel: I asked Vivian to marry me on my birthday. I drove her out to the spot where we met each other for the very first time and had our first kiss!
What Ring(s) Did You Get From Us?
Vivian: For my engagement ring, Miguel decided to go with a custom 14kt yellow gold six prong Paulina. For my wedding band, I decided that my ring would pair beautifully with a Ultra Petite Naomi 14kt gold halfway eternity band.
Miguel initially was considering a custom tungsten grooved center beveled edge duo-finished band. He ultimately decided on a Dax 4mm 14kt Rose Gold Matte Finish.
What About The Ring(s) Caught Your Eye? Is There Any Significance Behind Why You Picked The Ring(s) That You Did?
Vivian: I have always wanted a solitaire engagement ring. What I loved so much about my engagement ring was how timeless it was. It’s a classic and elegant style that I will still love to wear on my finger 20 years from now.
After I received my engagement ring I knew it would pair perfectly with the ultra petite Naomi style. I love how dainty and effortless the ring is.
Miguel chose his matte rose gold wedding band because it is not something you usually see in men's wedding bands. It’s unique and I think it fits his personality perfectly.
(In regards to if there is any significance behind the ring choices): Not necessarily, Miguel and I both wanted rings that represented who we are and our personalities.
Did You Always Have An Idea In Mind Of What Ring Style You Wanted Or Did It Change Over Time?
Vivian: I remember initially I was obsessed with oval shaped engagement rings. I would spend so much time scrolling on Pinterest saving so many pictures of oval rings. But then we traveled to Chicago and I tried on the traditional 6 prong round engagement ring and I fell in love.
Miguel: I was never really into jewelry outside of wearing a wrist-watch. As I started to try on rings I wanted something I felt comfortable in.
What Did You Look Forward To The Most About Your Wedding Day Or Marriage In General?
Vivian: On our wedding day we both were excited and happy to celebrate such a special time in our lives with all of our family, friends, and the FOOD.
For marriage, I think we were both excited to finally start this new chapter in our lives together. We were ready to take on life’s obstacles as a team and continue to grow as individuals and as a couple.
Miguel: I was excited to finally go to Mexico for our honeymoon and have some privacy.
Do You Have Any Advice For Couples In Regards To Marriage, Love, Or Relationships?
Our advice to couples would be to focus on building your relationship upon a solid foundation. For example, a genuine friendship where each other’s company is loved and appreciated. Making each other laugh and support and be part of each other's goals and aspirations.
