Is One Prong Style Better Than The Other?
This is a common question that we receive here at the shop and truthfully, it all boils down to aesthetic preference! Some people like a more metal look with six-prongs, while others prefer the opposite and let the center stone have its moment. Not only that, the way prongs are set can make the stone "have a different appearance". Six-prongs tend to make stones appear more rounded and smaller, and four prongs make a stone appear more square and larger.Â
While technically your stone will have some extra security with six-prongs, if both prong styles are worn mindfully, your ring will be just fine!
